Prompt 5. Our Race In The Sun

Our Race In The Sun

Riders and flags and shouts
all about
turning and twisting
hearts pounding without doubt

Riders and flags wave in the wind of the race
trophies gleaming, awaiting for
first, second, third place

Riders and flags whizzing on by
from earth jumping toward the brilliant blue sky
Exciting, the shouts, the flags, the turning,
the twisting, the speed, the heart thumping
and the wind blowing hair
the track beneath thrillingly bumping

And then it is over
It is ended
Breathless we are
Panting and sparkly eyed - a race well run
We lean smiling on our still hot engined car

Prompt 3. My Home

My Home

There in the clearing is home
Crimson barn wood
Wrapped in a single vine
Leaves like hearts
Some think it a birdhouse
I slip inside shaking sparkles
Of my Spring fairydust from my wings
And drink a sip of sweet pink
Nectar poured from my flower
Giggling happily hidden and safe

In the alcove
safe from the
chill of wind
the flying family
lands
In the alcove
atop the slippery
rock a half moon
of snowy feathers
protects the mini
fleet swimming
happily about
